poms/functional fitness camp!

Students who participate in poms and cheerleading programs at the junior high and high school level benefit from team spirit, hard work, accomplishments, self-esteem building activities, physical conditioning and FUN!

Master skills necessary to increase your potential for bette  try-out performances under the guidance of our experienced instructors.

The choreography portion of this camp teaches proper arm placement and positions, as well as kick technique, jump technique, and turning technique.  An emphasis will be placed on sharp, precise movements and synchronization.  Participants will learn how to increase their performance quality and will gain the self-confidence necessary to perform in front of others.  Students will learn how to work together as a team to achieve success. 

Combinations will be taught and participants will learn how to execute the choreography with confidence and charm.  Each routine will feature kicks, turns, jumps and formation changes.  

The Total Body Strength and Conditioning portion of this camp teaches about your  body’s strengths and weaknesses in order to ensure that poms and cheerleading routines do not lead to injury.  Each participant will receive an individualized fitness assessment to identify musculoskeletal imbalances.  After identifying any weaknesses, a program will be designed to improve skeletal posture and movement and increase and stabilize range of motion at each joint, which will increase strength and coordination.

Ballet for Skaters/Strength and Conditioning Camp

Ballet for Skaters is specifically designed to enhance and strengthen any program designed for the competitive skater.  Ballet instruction will teach proper placement, carriage, grace and poise.  Barre exercises develop strength and flexibility.  Stretch and Strengthen works on stretching the entire body with an emphasis on alignment and developing a strong core base of support.  Stretch and Strengthen also restores muscle balance, opens tight joints, and ensures structural integration.   Total Body Strength and Conditioning  targets ideal postural control, improving explosive gracefulness, and  gaining awareness of the mind/body connection.  Participants will learn how to increase their performance quality and will gain in self-confidence necessary to perform in front of others.
